Great Food
The menu has a full selection of Entrees, Soups, Burgers and Mains as well as an extensive Snack Menu. Dishes include Seafood Chowder, Fresh NZ Fish and Pigtail Fries, Chicken Satay Burger, Home Made Lamb Burger, Fresh Salads, Buffalo Chilli Chicken Wings, Pork Spare Ribs, Scotch Fillet Steak, Wedges and Pig Tail Fries. Enjoy your meals in the comfortable atmosphere of the Pig and Whistle or venture into the garden bar to enjoy the great outdoors. Either way the Pig and Whistle is the ideal venue for lunch or dinner.

The Bar
The main bar at the Pig and Whistle offers great surroundings with native timber features throughout including a solid Rimu bar built by one of Rotorua’s top craftsmen. The garden bar is surrounded by New Zealand ponga's and ferns to provide a taste of the New Zealand outdoors. All of this, along with our friendly bar staff make the Pig and Whistle a great place for anything from a quiet drink, to lunch or dinner or a fun night out with friends. The bar is open from 11.30am until late seven days a week.

Restaurant Hours
The Pig and Whistle offers a full menu from 11.30am with last orders taken at 10.00pm seven days a week.

Private Functions – Private upstairs bar
Let us organise it all for you. Walk in, have a good time and then walk back out again, hassle free. You decide how much you would like to spend and how many to cater for and we’ll do the rest.

History
The Pig and Whistle was built in 1940 and served as the local Police Station until 1969. The building was used as a Probation Office and a city market until 1993 when it was then leased and refitted to become a restaurant and historic pub. The building is a fine example of 1940’s architecture and is a real landmark in the city.

Swine Lager
A lager with mid-straw colour. Uses the finest New Zealand malt and hops, batch fermented to give a smooth lager with understated hop characters and a sweetish malty flavour.

New Zealand Beers
New Zealand has long established itself as a fine brewer of beer, scooping many international awards. At the Pig and Whistle you’ll find an extensive range of New Zealand lagers and ales.

Imported Beers
You will also find a large selection of imported beers including Corona and Stella Artois.

New Zealand and Australian Wines
Along with the down-under beers the Pig and Whistle stocks a great range of red and white wines. Available by the bottle or by the glass...
